The strength analysis methods of adhesive bonded structure can be classified into two types,i.e.,analytical method and numerical method,and the numerical method is mainly finite element method.In this paper,the finite element analysis methods for composite adhesive bonding structures are summarized,and based on the physical mechanism of the methods,the main FEM analysis methods of adhesively bonded composite joints are classified into three types,i.e.,stress-based model,fracture mechanics-based model and damage mechanics-based model.3D stress-based model,VCCT model and CZM model have been summarized in details,including their basic concepts,range of applications,advantages and disadvantages,improvements and extension as well as the implementation procedures.The recent progresses and necessary comments have also been reviewed in the present paper.These methods have been compared and analyzed from three aspects in the fifth part,such as the scope,singular stress and failure criterion,and further development trends in this area are also prospected.

It is of much significance to analyze the stiffness and statics of parallel robots for the study ontheir mechanical properties. The development of stiffness and static analysis of parallel robots in domestic andforeign countries were illustrated in detail via three kinds of structures, i.e. rod-support, wire-driven and steelband driven parallel robots. The progress in stiffness analysis of rod-support parallel mechanism was presentedin terms of three different methods: finite element, analytical modeling and performance analysis. The resultsof the relation between wire tension, frequency of dynamic loads, wire pre-tightening force and the stiffnessand statics of wire-driven parallel mechanism were discussed. According to the specific structure of steel banddriven parallel robots, the problems about instablity and vibration were discussed which may be encountered inanalyzing the stiffness and statics of steel band parallel mechanism. Finally, the development of parallel robotswas summarized, and the prospect was predicted that the mechanics theory of parallel robots will becomeincreasingly matured and perfect, while the stiffness and statics analysis will witness in-depth development.The mechanics theory will provide systematic theoretical basis for the optimization design of parallel robotmechanism.

Ancient wood architectures are valuable heritage of ancient culture of China and most important part of Chinese civilization. As time elapses, the protection of these priceless historical relics is increasingly urgent. Survey on ancient wood structures in the last thirty years was summarized and reviewed in four aspects as follows: (a) mechanical properties of aging wood; (b) structural behaviour of key joints, such as Dou-Gong bracket, beam-column joint, and column-base joint; (c) structural performance of column frame; and (d) survey and evaluation of structural damage and corresponding reinforcement.
