HOMOGENIZATION THEORY AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN BIOMECHANICS

  • In this paper, the recently developed homogenization theory is introduced, within the framework of elasticity. The corresponding error estimate analysis is also presented here.It can be seen that the homogenization method provides a systematic way to combine stress analyses at the macro-and micro structure levels in the field of biomechanics.As a practical example, the numerical simulation of mechanical characteristics for compact bone by homogenization method is introduced.
