Abstract: In the present paper, the authors first introduce some experiments on adhesion abilities and related mechanisms for animals and insects. Then we focus on some theoretical studies on bio-adhesion.The biomimetic manufacturing method and its promising applications arediscussed in the last section, together with some suggestions on the study ofbiomimetic adhesion mechanics.
