Abstract:
In the cylindrical-cavity-expansion-theory-basedpenetration calculation for all types of projectile bodies and theconcrete targets, only the static parameters of the concrete targets aretaken into consideration, which does not account faithfully for thedynamic interaction between the projectiles and the targets. Therefore, the cylindrical-cavity-expansion-theory-based model is modified bytaking account of the dynamic response of the targets under dynamicloads and their strain rate sensitivity. Case studies show that themodified model can produce calculation results more consistent with theexperimental data.
