Abstract:
ARCS learning motivation model is a teaching design model, driven by the four elements, i.e., attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction, to mobilize students' learning motivation. This article introduces the reform practice of introducing game-based teaching method in the classroom based on the ARCS model in the course of “concepts and experiments of structural model”. Taking practical game as an example, it shows how to design educational games based on the ARCS model of learning motivation. Furthermore, the practice of “rice noodle-marshmallow structure competition game”, “serious game of structural simulation platform”, “structural knowledge challenge until the last”, and “static and dynamic load model experiment competition” adopted in the course is introduced. Questionnaire and other feedback results show that, according to the characteristics of the course, carefully designed teaching game integrated into the course can improve the vitality of the classroom, encourage students to take the initiative to learn, and achieve a good teaching effect. This paper has reference value for other similar experimental courses.
