Abstract:
Based on the hypothesis of the EMRcreated by atom perturbation resulting from propagating cracks during rockfracture, the crack length and area are calculated throughfracture mechanics under small yield condition. The expression of the EMRamplitude and rock's attribute parameters is presented according tothe relation between EMR amplitude and crack length and area. Thedependence of the EMR amplitude on each attribute parameter isdiscussed. The obtained results show that the EMR amplitude increases with theelastic modulus and the influence of rock dimension on the EMRis greater than its lithology. The results of this paper are in good agreement with many experimental measurements.
