RESEARCH AND TEACHING OF OCEAN ENGINEERING SCIENCE FROM THE BASIS OF MECHANICS DISCIPLINE—A CASE STUDY OF 《JOURNAL OF OCEAN ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE》

As the forerunner and cornerstone of engineering science, mechanics is a fundamental discipline. Scientific journals serve as vital carriers for research achievement and service platforms for scientific research. Based on the 《Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science》, this paper analyzes the statistical information of this journal's publications and some articles relevant to mechanics. It reveals that the fundamental disciplines in the scientific research of ocean engineering are mainly related to mechanics and mathematics. Also, the promotion of mechanics as a basic discipline to engineering science in research and teaching is discussed. Combining with research work on mechanics problems, some suggestions for the mutual promotion between scientific journals and research teaching are proposed.
