AN ANALYSIS ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VELOCITY OF TENNIS BALL AND STRING TENSION OF TENNIS RACKET

  • A dynamical equation is established based on a simplified mechanics modelfor the collision between tennis racket and the ball within veryshort time, and the relationships between the string tension ofthe racket and the velocity of the tennis ball, separate time, and separatedistance are analyzed. It is concludedthat the ball would gain higher velocity if the string tension is weaker.Correspondingly, the separate time and the separate distance willincrease.
